Wedderburn was one of the first promoters of black power by revolutionary forces. He was the first black radical to make theoretical use of the successful Haitian revolution of 1790 and the guerrilla war of the Maroons on Jamaica. His publications had an enourmous impact in his time, first in London and then across the Atlantic as reprints in American periodicals. They are now collected for the first time in book form.
