A tribute to Our RAF Blenheim Crew tells the story of a Bomber Command crew of three - a Canadian, a Scot and an Englishman - during the harrowing early days of WWII. The unpresedented daylight raid described above was broadcast world wide by print, radio and film and featured in Life and Reader's Digest two months before America joined the War. The crew's performance won their Canadian pilot a Distinguished Flying Medal. On October 22, 1941, the young crew's Blenheim mysteriously blew up in the skies over Libya during a raid on military barracks. The full truth about their deaths was not discovered until 60 years later by two of their descendants, on English, the other Canadian. This book is a deeply personal document of military history composed by members of the three families of the RAF crew. It also is a poignant family memoir written by kin who scarcely knew the men who died - evidence of teh wounds war inflicts over generations.
